About Kabashima Lab

While we know the underlying mechanisms of certain skin diseases, much remains unknown. Responses to treatments and clinical courses vary significantly among patients. To answer these questions, we study skin immunology and allergy using a combination of genetically engineered mice and in vivo imaging. We aim to translate our basic research findings into clinical practice to invent the next generation of therapeutics for patients.

We provide access to world-class core facilities within a highly collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. We are deeply dedicated to nurturing a vibrant, global research community, understanding that profound scientific breakthroughs are powered by a rich diversity of global viewpoints. Our department takes pride in its long-standing tradition of hosting overseas researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and clinical observers from across the world. We actively cultivate an inclusive and English-friendly lab atmosphere that enables international scholars to thrive, collaborate seamlessly, and produce high-impact research

We welcome inquiries about international collaborations, postdoctoral research positions, and clinical or research fellowships. Whether you are an established investigator seeking synergistic collaborations or an ambitious early-career researcher aiming to deepen your expertise in skin immunology, we invite you to join us and bring your passion to Kyoto. Together, we can push the boundaries of dermatological science and improve the lives of patients worldwide.
